Do I need a Mac monitor to extend my ipad pro or can I use any monitor?

You can connect your iPad to any computer monitor or TV that has an HDMI, DVI or VGA video input - using an appropriate adapter if necessary. Some models of iPad that have a USB-C port can also connect directly to a monitor that supports HDMI over USB-C (a.k.a., DP Alt Mode).


You should note that iPadOS15 and iPadOS 16.1 currently only support basic Screen Mirroring.


iPadOS 16 Stage Manager support for external monitors is not yet available - this feature being planned for release later this year.
