Swipe-up bar interfering with the Dock

Is anyone else having problems using the new swipe-up-to-hide/close-an-app feature on the new iPads? It interferes with the Dock, sometimes opening an app in the Dock, and is a pain. You have to swipe over and over in an attempt to avoid the Dock. I have requested Apple add the option of moving the dock vertically (as with the Mac OS) to avoid the clash. I hope the next iOS update will fix this bug.

Yours is the first report that I have seen concerning issues with accessing the Dock or the App Switcher. The issue that you attempt to describe is unclear - and perhaps suggesting that your problem is not with the UI itself, but is perhaps more likely how you perceive that it should behave.

Swiping upwards from the bottom edge of the screen will expose the Dock - whereas swiping upwards from the bottom-edge to the centre of the screen, pausing briefly before lifting your finger, will open the App Switcher screen.

The Home Bar, that you see at the bottom of a full-page App, is a “handle” that can be dragged left or right to switch between opened Apps.

When the Dock has been exposed, the Home Bar remains visible (and accessible) beneath the open Dock:
