Since it used to work from the iPhone but the update stopped it, either the adaptor is no longer compatible, or if other things work but not Hulu, then they protected their material and it can no longer be streamed from the iPhone. "If an app doesn't display video or play audio

The app might not be compatible with your adapter. Check compatibility on the app's info page in the App Store or contact the developer."
