2022 Black Friday gift card "promotion"?

When buying an eligible promotion item (ex, Iphone 13 mini) why does Apple subtract $50 from the bill then add the cost of the gift card, $50, back on to the bill? The result =$0.

This is not a promotion. More like a $50 SCAM for the unsuspecting!!

Not that it is a scam but It can look like it when, on the order page of the item, the next line shows a $50 discount. This implies that you will receive an immediate application of the gift card. However, moving further down the order page you will see the card is entered for $50. which is = to 0 discount. So then later you get the card in an email which CANNOT be used to pay down the Apple credit card.

You get the game?

Because you so clearly don't understand the promotion does not mean it's a game. Apple NEVER suggested you could pay down the price of the item you bought with the gift card. NEVER. EVER. They said if you buy a qualifying item, you'll get a gift card you can use toward another purchase. Go to www.apple.com. Read the terms of the gift card in the footnotes at the bottom of the page.
