Audio problems with update to iOS 16.1.1 on iPhone 12

I use my iPhone with an audio product (iRig Stomp) by IK Multimedia with their Amplitube App. The new iOS now has significant noise and distortion when connected via lightning cable/stereo earbud plug adapter.

Through a process of elimination, I attempted to isolate the issue:

Tested the adapter cable playing iTunes music w/ earbuds and adapter - no noise or distortion

Tested iRig box with my iPad (with older iOS) - no noise or distortion

Tested another similar competing App with the same hardware interface - This exhibited THE SAME NOISE & DISTORTION.

I didn't have this problem on my iPhone before the upgrade. It suggest that there is a bug in the audio processing for an iPhone 12 in the upgrade.

iPad Pro, 15

I thought my hearing was messed up! But I just tested this in my Chevrolet Blazer and you’re 100% correct: playing the same song in iTunes vs Amazon Music I get a different experience. The Amazon version sounds thin and like it’s on one speaker in the front of the car whereas the iTunes version sounds full like it normally does in surround sound. I played around with my settings and noticed that my Blazer audio settings reset every time I play Amazon music but keeps the settings on iTunes. Very annoying since I switch between the two apps frequently and had no issues with CarPlay/audio before downloading iOS 16.
