Hello Shawn-11,

We want to help, so you can enjoy your Apple TV 4K. To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

  1. When the issue happens, do you receive any errors, If so, what does the error say?
  2. Does your Apple TV seem to actually disconnect from Wi-Fi when this happens?
  3. Does this continue to happen if you try to connect to another network?

The above details will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also check out the suggestions in this link, which can help if your Apple TV isn't connecting to Wi-Fi as expected: If your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi

Follow the steps below if your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi. After each step, try to connect to Wi-Fi again.
If your Apple TV connects to Wi-Fi but you can’t watch and stream movies or TV shows in the Apple TV app, find out what to do.

Connect to Wi-Fi

If your Apple TV has an Ethernet port, make sure your Apple TV isn't connected to an Ethernet cable. If you're using an Ethernet cable, you won't see the option to connect to Wi-Fi.

Go to Settings > Network, then choose a Wi-Fi network to join. If asked, enter your Wi-Fi password. If you don't know your password, learn what to do.

If Wi-Fi is connected, but you can't access or stream movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app, please try the suggestions here, that may help: If you can't watch or stream movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app

If the movie or TV show won't start playing

After each step, try to stream or download the movie or TV show again.

1. Check the System Status page for service interruptions or check a third-party provider's website for any interruptions. If there are service interruptions, try to stream or watch the video later.
2. If you're having trouble signing in with your Apple ID, you can reset your Apple ID password or learn how to get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication.
3. If your cellular connection is poor, connect to Wi-Fi instead.*
4. Try watching on a different device using the same Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If it doesn't work, contact your internet service provider to see if there's an issue with your network.
5. If other people are using Apple TV+ or Apple TV channels, make sure it doesn't exceed the limits for streaming on multiple devices.

* Make sure that your Wi-Fi router is 802.11a/g/n/ac compatible. Streaming HD content requires 8 Mbit/s or faster. Slower tiers of Wi-Fi connections might not be fast enough to stream HD video content.

Thanks!
