My macOS High Sierra (imac (27-inch, Mid 2011, version 10.13.6) has not been udated and I am unable to update to another software update. How do I catch up? updated since. My macOS for imac has not been updated to a newer version.

10.13.6 is as far as any 2011 Mac can go.
Mostly you just need a more modern Browser than Safari on High Sierra like Firefox or Brave.

I am currently on Firefox.
Once a week, click the FIrefox Application menu > About Firefox to ensure you keep the browser current with future Firefox updates.
