apple gift cards

I just ordered two new iphones I don't see anything about the apple gift cards. How do I know I am getting them and how much they are?

Apple's gift card promotion starts today.

Offer valid on qualifying purchases of eligible Apple products from November 25, 2022, to November 28, 2022, at a qualifying location. Offer subject to availability. While supplies last. Customers shall receive a discount equal to the value of the Promotion Product (depending on their purchase) off the price of the Eligible Product, but will be charged for all items in their cart.

If you did not get the Gift cards added to your card at the time of purchase, and were charged for them, while also receiving a discount on the price of the iPhones, then contact Apple support directly by clicking here ➡️ Apple Support

It's a NON-promotion. You buy an iphone that's eligible for the gift card. They CHARGE you for the gift card and then on another line they subtract the cost of the gift card. Net result is $0, so no discount. I went through the ordering process 3 times with the same result.

Apple is now resorting to game playing with their customers!!!

This is incorrect. They charge you for the gift card, but reduce the price of the iPhone in that amount in the same transaction.

The result is a gift card for the amount reduced from the iPhone.

If the iPhone costs $500, and you get a gift card for $150, you pay $350 for the iPhone, and pay $150 for the gift card. Total is still the $500 form the iPhone and you still get a $150 dollar gift card.

Not exactly. Most people buy with a credit card.

At the end of the order page there is no discount applied to the phone price. You will pay the full iPhone price. (If you go through the order process you will see this)

When you get your credit card bill you cannot apply the gift card as a payment against the credit card bill.

You can apply it to another Apple purchase of accessories or products.

So, as I said before, no promotion discount on the initial purchase is available. Only on later purchases.

The Gift card is separate, you cannot apply it to the same transaction no.

But again, there should be a discount on the actual price of the iPhone before checkout.

Your total charge at the end, will be just the original price of the iPhone. i.e iPhone cost - discount + gift card cost.

The gift card can then be used with any future purchase.

Correct, Phil.

Gotta wonder why they go through the adding and subtracting excercise when they could have just said, "Buy an iPhone at full price and get a gift card!"
I noticed yesterday they added the phrase "... for later purchases."

Probably some fiscal write-off technicality there. It may be better in terms of taxes to do it that way, then just giving you the gift card directly.
