Nasty icon in menu bar
How can I can rid of this nasty icon in the menu bar?
I'm using DisplayLink to connect a second screen for my MacBook Pro (M1) using Ventura.
I didn't see this one with Monterey.

Hold down the Command key and see if you can drag the icon out of the manu bar to remove it.

Open your display, link, software, and see if there are any settings there. I don’t recognize the icon, so I assume it has something to do with DisplayLink, but it may just be the screen sharing icon letting you know that displaylink is sharing the screen.
Thanks again, Barney, but it only shows:
• No Administrator
• Open Sharing Preferences...
If I click on the first one, nothing happens and if I click on the second one, I will be redirected to Sharing within System Settings... (as it is called right now) where I am not able to change a thing.
If that is the DisplayLink icon, it doesn't appear they have allowed you to remove it:
Click on it and see if there are settings for that app to hide the menubar icon.
I tried, but it flies back into the menu bar.
Cheers!
Thanks for all your help. That silly icon disappeared as unexpectedly as it appeared!
Cheers!
It's the Ghost in the Machine
I'll try to catch the culprit! 😂
