Siri stopped working after last iOS update

I have an iPhone 13. After the most recent update, Siri no longer works. I ask something and Siri goes "on it ... just a sec ... something went wrong try again" no matter the request. Also, the music app on my iWatch used to show the name of the song playing on my iPhone. Now it shows the name of the first song playing and then gets stuck and I can't use my watch to skip forward or back.


What I've tried:


  1. Power off phone and power back on
  2. Change Siri's voice and change it back
  3. Re-train Siri


None of these things worked. Any ideas? Thanks.

Great steps tried already for this issue! We'd like to continue where you left off in ruling out some possible causes for the issues you described for both devices:


  1. Did both issues start after updating to iOS 16?
  2. The latest version for your iPhone model is iOS 16.1.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  3. If you have a compatible watch model, the latest version is watchOS 9.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to Update your Apple Watch.
