Siri Texting does not show message box after IOS 16.1.1 upgrade

Most every time I compose a message using Siri, no message box is shown. Siri will only read back the message and ask if I want to send, cancel or edit. Edit will only let me redo the message with Siri, as there is no text box to edit manually. Once and a great while it works as expected (i.e. when I compose a message with Siri, the message box pops up and the text box is shown as the audio is encoded into the message and I can edit the message manually). Since Siri often misunderstands a word or two, it is necessary for me to tweak the message before I send it. I have no idea what makes it so it works sometimes. This is obviously a bug, so the solution needs to come from the developers.

Hi there mstet,

If you are unable to see the text of a message you are dictating using Siri, the first thing we would recommend is restarting your iPhone. This refreshes the software and can resolve unexpected behavior such as this. Here's how to do this: Restart your iPhone

If this continues after restarting, then Apple Support would be the best suited to look into this further. Reach out using this link: Contact - Official Apple Support

I just discovered that this issue only occurs when i am connected to bluetooth! I found that a similar issue was reported in 2019 in this thread, and still exists:

I did not observe this before I upgraded to IOS 16.1 ( I am not sure what version I had before the upgrade, as I usually do not take the bait as soon as an upgrade is available)
