Timezone randomly changing

My iphone keeps changing to an Alaskan time zone, even though I have not left the Bay Area. I have my setting correctly set to set up automatically and it keeps reverting to Metlaktla which is an hour behind us. My phones has the latest IOS.

Hello alamedasarah,

We would like to see how we can help you with the time zone changing unexpectedly. Which iOS version are you currently running? Go to Settings > General > About for the version. Follow the steps in this link and get back to us with your results: If you can't change the time or time zone on your Apple device - Apple Support

"On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  2. Turn on Set Automatically1 in Settings > General > Date & Time. This automatically sets your date and time based on your time zone.
  3. If a message appears saying that updated time zone information is available, restart your device and any paired Apple Watch.
  4. Allow your device to use its current location to determine the correct time zone. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and turn on Setting Time Zone.
  5. Check that your device shows the correct time zone in Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone."

Cheers!
