Why are there no Subtitles, Closed Captioning, or other settings for Apple TV+ through web browser?

I've read countless articles stating that if you are watching Apple TV through a web browser on PC, the CC and other settings are accessed while playing the video.

Unfortunately, they no longer exist. I've attempted this with multiple browsers on different shows, and the opaque subtitle/CC function is missing from the video.

In fact, the pause function doesn't appear either. I can click the screen to pause, but other than that there are no controls.

Which browser and browser version are you using? Apple recommends Firefox or Chrome.

What is your version system software (OS)? Old operating systems (Vista?) and their corresponding browser versions might be a bit lacking for all the ‘tricks’ of modern sites.

Possibly you have browser extensions active that interferes with the site functionality?
