Faded out green arrow in message

Faded out green arrow on Messages writing field. ? What does it mean ? Not blue…Green and faded out like pictured , I understand difference with blue & green. What does faded green mean, how can I get rid of it?

It appears the number you're messaging doesn't support iMessage, which is why the blue arrow isn't appearing.
