Apple TV home screen suddenly less intense color (faded); no problem with program display

Resolution HDR (TV is an LG 65” OLED) 1080p HD - 59.94 Hz HDR10 4:2:2


Hi. An interesting problem has developed with my unit with a somewhat faded appearance of the home screen and system screens and all screens except programs, which have normal display. Swapping the unit with two other units that we have demonstrates the problem is with this one unit, not the TV or cables; the issue follows the unit (other units display normally on all three TVS and the unit in question has the faded home screen/system screens on all TVs.) I have tried rebooting it to no avail; I have resisted resetting the unit out of concern about having to re-enter subscription data for many of my apps (!). The background display (light/dark/automatic) has no affect on the faded appearance mainly of the reds.


Does anyone have experience with this and tell me whether this is end of life or whether a reset will resolve the issue?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, do you by chance have any color filters enabled in the Display Accommodation settings on your Apple TV? Color Filters
Color Filters can help you differentiate colors or read onscreen text.

To help you differentiate colors, there are four presets. After you choose one (except Grayscale), you can then select Intensity to adjust the filter's strength:
- Grayscale
- Red/Green Filter (for Protanopia)
- Green/Red Filter (for Deuteranopia)
- Blue/Yellow Filter (for Tritanopia)

To help you read onscreen text, select the Color Tint option. Then select Intensity or Hue to make adjustments.
