Apple News Problem

The instructions given by Apple for accessing a current journal subscription (e. g., Wired) on Apple News are not working. There is no "already a subscriber?" or "subscribe to [individual journal] button. It appears that you have to subscribe to the Apple News program or nothing. How do I access my own subscriptions from within News? I ask because News often highlights an article I haven't yet found on the journal's own webpages or apps, so I'd like this functionality.

Hey amumorey,

You would not need to subscribe to News+ in order to view your existing subscriptions in the News app.

If you have an existing subscription to Wired (or other publications), do you also have their app downloaded or sync/sign in with your Apple ID on their site. We ask as News will automatically scan your account for publications tied to your Apple ID and make them available in the News app.

"If you already subscribe in a publisher's app

Apple News automatically checks your Apple ID for active subscriptions that you purchased in a publisher's app.

If any of your purchased subscriptions are also available in the News app, you automatically get access to premium stories from that channel.

Access a subscription purchased on a publisher's website

  1. Open the Apple News app and search for the channel that you subscribe to.The "Already a Subscriber?" option at the top of a channel's page
  2. Tap or click "Already a Subscriber?" and sign in with the user name and password that you use for the publisher's website.

If you have issues signing in, contact the publisher."

Cheers!
