after installing Ventura on my MacBook Air, I can't get the keep original button anymore in Image Capture.
I am trying to transfer from an iPhone SE, iOS version 16.1.
It was working well before.
Hereunder is a screenshot.
Am I missing something here?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You should still see the option to 'Keep Originals' using macOS Ventura. Just to confirm, are you following the steps listed here? See: Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac
If so and if this still persists, try restarting both your devices before connecting and using Image Capture again.

I can confirm that I am following the steps listed in the link you have provided.
The problem still persists and I did reboot both the MacBook Air and the iPhone as you suggested.
Could it be due to the iOS version on my iPhone (I recently upgraded to 16.1)?
In your link it reads that the available options depend on the device. I use the same device as before (the option was there), but I changed the iOS version...

Hi Luis,
To my knowledge (and experience) the "delete after import" check box removes the photo from your device after the import, whereas the "Keep Original" check box (which was appearing right below before) enables you to import as JPEG (with all the meta data etc.) instead of importing an HEIC format (original format) and leaves the photo on the iPhone. Which is the reason I've been using this option until now - because I maintain a library of JPEG files.
I always had the 2 check boxes...

I cannot test right now (as I am away from my mac); but i always saw this on the iPhone settings, not the mac.
In the context of the question, it seemed that it was about keeping the files on the iPhone, not the format of the transfer. Sorry.
Since “delete after import” is a checkbook, it stands to reason that NOT checking means leaving the originals in place…
No worries, I should have explained a bit more initially.
Let's see if someone can come up with a solution.
