Yahoo mail no longer works since upgrade to 16.1.1

My yahoo mail no longer works in the Apple mail app. I power cycled iPhone. Deleted and tried unsuccessfully to add yahoo mail account back to Apple mail app. No luck. I can log in successfully to yahoo mail if I go to internet. Any advice? Thx

I’m having the same problem with iOS 16.1.1 following the Apple instructions


when i try to add the account, it looks like yahoo mail is being added, I receive a notification from yahoo that I have a new iOS sign in but after iPhone screen spinning for a bit, it fails to add yahoo to my iphone

And directs me back to the list of

email providers screen


i can download and run the yahoo mail app from the App Store - but it isn’t the solution I am after!

Since you're unable to add an email account to your iPhone, we recommend that you try the steps here: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


Next, we’d like to show you how to perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above. Please click to open the link, then read through the steps in the section titled "How to set up your email account automatically."


If you use an email provider like iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up your email account with just your email address and password. Here's how:

1) Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.

2) Tap Add Account, then select your email provider.

3) Enter your email address and password.

4) If you see Next, tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.

5) If you see Save, tap Save.

If you don't see your email provider, tap Other to add your account manually.
