is pages for ipad same as pages for mac

Thanks for your reply. What I was looking for was how it is different, not whether is it more powerful. Seems my iPad’s Pages doesn’t have the same buttons as the one on my desktop computer. I phoned Apple Support and the tech wasn’t actually sure, either but he did give me this link to a manual written for Pages in iPad, which should prover helpful for anyone with the same question.
