Mono VS Mono -> Stereo options when working with Logic Pro Audio Effects Plugins

When would you use the Mono -> Stereo option when adding an audio FX plugin in Logic Pro X.

I record a lot using stereo pairs (two omens or two cardioids) and pan one track left and the second track right in mono mode. Together they form a stereo image. When I add a plugin, such as an EQ, to one of these tracks should the plugin should it be set to Mono or Mono -> Stereo?

The way you're doing it, the two plugins should be mono.

As an example, If you were recording a vocal on a single mono track and added a reverb as an insert instead of on a send you may want to use Mono -> Stereo for the Reverb.
