Same trouble. In my house, on wifi, phone is fine. I leave the house and almost nothing works. No Spotify, no podcasts, FB won’t fully load, email will not download. Texts won’t go through. I can make and receive calls. It’s the internet aspect that won’t work😣

If you are unable to make a call or receive; If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone - Apple Support

Cellular Update Failed —> If you see an Update Failed or Apple Pay Not Available alert after an iOS update or restart

Settings > Mobile Data > APN [under Mobile Data APN] enter the APN pin

View and edit your APN settings

If your carrier allows it, you can view your APN settings in one of the following locations: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network. Settings> Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network.

View and edit your Access Point Name (APN) on your iPhone ...

Carrier Update (Required): Released by your Cellular Service provider (Carrier Update), affects your Outgoing / Incoming calls, SMS, Data etc.

How to Update Carrier Settings

You can manually check for and install carrier settings, and update with these steps: Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

If nothing helps then --> If you see a Cellular, Ultra Wideband, or Apple Pay Issue message after an iOS update or restart

Still no resolution. Got a brand NEW iPhone last week. Same problem. Then AppleCare wiped it, started again and did not use any back up, either iCloud or computer back up. Basically an empty iPhone, with only what comes loaded on a new iPhone running 16.1.1. Still the same problem. No data connection outside of wifi. So far, no clue as to what is causing this or how to resolve it!

I have the same issue.. i had an iphone 13pro and had the issue.. upgraded to iphone 14pro with ios 16.1.1. Same issue!! I figured out after several hours that i can use my phone for calls by selecting LTE setting in cellular area.. when i had 5G on or auto selected it would interfere with the LTE and drop calls, garbled sound and no cellular data outside of wifi.. if i try to restart phone it wont reconnect to any cellular setting so i have to keep restarting and if im lucky it reconnects to LTE.. so im not restarting it and leaving it on LTE.. it works perfect on that setting.. calls sound perfect..i spent 2 hours submitting a bug report for Apple Engineers and hopefully they can include a bug fix in the next update.. its definetly the ios 16.1.1 update that caused this issue..

I got the same issues. Phone calls are nearly unusable. Siri isn’t working at all, when not connected to wifi and other services like streaming, surfing etc. doesn’t work at all. Also I’ve to add, that Siri on the HomePods currently don’t make a good job either. I don’t know what’s wrong with Apple services, but in my opinion they were way better a few weeks ago.

PS I’m using iPhone 13 Pro and HomePod Mini.

UPDATE: After a week of constant back and forth with both Apple tech support and Verizon tech support, it was discovered that a major tower was down in the next town over from me. After a lengthy repair of 2 days, it appears that the problem is resolved with the cellular connectivity issue. Just wanted to let anyone know that has same issue. Contact your provider and make sure they check all local towers to see if they are down.
