I am using 13 pro max with software 16.1.1
I started facing an issue in which whenever I pay voice notes on WhatsApp , Instagram or any software it plays well on speaker. As it is being played on speaker as I put phone on my ear, it doesn't play and as i see screen immediate it shows speaker cross sign.
I tried toggling the silent button on off, Setting only reset for iphone, software updated to 16.1.1

Given the description of your symptoms, we want to start by isolation the issue between your earphones or the iPhone and/or its software and apps. To do this, we can first follow the earphone troubleshooting guidance in If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, which will help us determine if your earphones are working as they should.
If so, see if the issue occurs with all audio types in all apps. For example, see if you can listen to music in the Music app, if you can listen to a voice memo recorded in the Voice Memos app, and videos in the Apple TV app. This will let us know if the issue is specific to third-party apps, or if it is also occurring in Apple apps native to your iPhone.

Through our testing, it seems that Voice Memos playing through the speaker rather than the receiver is expected behavior with these apps. If you'd like to let the developer of the apps know that you'd like voice messages to play through the receiver, you can let them know by contacting them using these instructions:

Thanks for the reply. Means alot. Actually I wanted to refer to part shown in image below. Voice messages in all apps is played fine via loudspeaker while when i put phone on my ear, no voice comes from this
