This just started happening this past week. My partner’s podcasts on her phone and my podcasts on my phone are co-mingling. For instance, her podcast show up in my phone. I delete them and they appear again because she adds them back on to her phone. Also, podcasts we both listen to show “played” if one of us has played it even when the other has not.
Don’t know why this is happening all of a sudden.

Are you using the same Apple ID on both devices?
Each device should have a different Appel ID, you can use Family Sharing to share supported apps and other content together:

Yes. My spouse installed an update on her phone. I hadn't yet, so after I updated my phone, everything was corrected. Thank you.
