Titles > Social > Bump Basic with Logo
This Installed Title always crops the image you apply as the logo. I can find no control to modify or prevent this. Does anyone know how I might do that?

The logo "well" (called a dropzone) has a rectangular aspect ratio.
To make the square logo fit, adjust the slider for "Logo scale" in the Inspector.
You can also adjust the overall size with the "Logo dropzone scale" slider.

If you need the logo a little larger, you can combine the scaling with Logo Position > Y. By default, the logo image is set low in its cropped zone (it's panned vertically downward). Setting Y to 0 will recenter the vertical placement, and then you can scale to fit from there.
I went into the Title in Motion and turned on Override FCP Color Space.

The original is in a Category called Social - but that "folder" is inside the FCP app itself — you will need to *create* a new folder in the Titles templates folder and name it (exactly, without quotes) "Social". The modified title is named Bump Basic With Logo copy (which is the name Motion applied automatically when I opened the original — if this experiment doesn't work, you can simply delete the template folder and restarting FCP will get rid of the Missing Title warning icon in the Titles browser.)
Let me know if you have any trouble changing the Type color. There might be something else to try.

And… I messed with the Drop Zone Scale before, but it didn't have any effect. This time, it did.

The Social titles I believe are meant for square or vertical video. What is your project frame size?
What are the dimensions of the logo image?
Can you post some screenshots illustrating the issue?
The brightness thing has already been addressed by Tom and myself, but again: is your project HDR?
If in doubt, press Command-J and make a screenshot of the top of the inspector.
That is even more helpful.
By the way, I have discovered something else about using Apple's Titles in an HDR Library: Once the Title clip has been set to HDR in the Timeline, it becomes impossible to set the color of its Text. I'm going to determine whether this is true also with imported After Effects alpha text.

Could you explain what you’re doing here to which title because the balls statement is quite inaccurate. Perhaps I’m not understanding what you mean by “Tittle clip set to HDR in the Timeline.”
That version works a treat! I can change the text color now.

To my HDR Project, I added two title animations that I created in After Effects. One was rendered right in AE, the other was sent from After Effects to Media Encoder. Both exports were Apple ProRes 4444 with Alpha. They work perfectly in the Final Cut Pro HDR Project.
Here's the interesting part. Adobe Media Encoder offers a preset named Apple ProRes 4444 with Alpha HLG. Hmm. HLG. I tried it. It suffers the same luma problems as the FCP built-in Titles, making it unusable.

In the Titles pane, Bump Basic with Logo shows bright white text at 100% opacity. However, in the Timeline, it shows gray text, almost invisible. I can find no way to brighten the text.
We need to see the settings for your project. The dark text may be because you are editing in an HDR project.
Different problem. It sounds like you’re in an HDR project. Use the Color Board to push up the luma to HDR brightness.
As you can see, it's impossible to get accurate text color when the project is HDR. It doesn't matter whether the HDR Tools effect is applied to the connected Title clip.
As I said you use the Color Board or other color correction tool to increase the luminance levels. I'm sure Fox has better solutions, but the luma correction is what I use as it's quick and easy.
