Swapping number in a new sim

I’ve got a new SIM card in my phone and had a text message saying my old number has been transferred. It will let me ring people with my old number (so it has transferred) but when I FaceTime people it’s coming up with a different number and people can’t contact me with my new number unless they ring me it does not work with FT or iMessage

I am getting the message This Phone Number cannot be used by i Message and Facetime I switched my Sim provider today and ported my old telephone number to the new Sim but Settings will not allow me to change the original Sim telephone number to my old number. Weirdly things are still working correctly and I am getting and sending calls, texts and messages. In settings, Messages and Facetime say they are still verifying my telephone number. I have tried turning the phone on and off, taking out the new sim and switching off Messages and Facetime to no avail. Does it take time for Apple to recognise my new Sim?

How to remove an old phone number Hi, I have since purchased a new SIM for my iPhone & transferred my old number to my new Sim. Once the number had transferred & I started using my phone, my friends were telling me that when I FaceTime them, it’s not my number coming up. In my settings the number that came with my new sim is still registered for Facetime and iMessage along with my old number I kept. But I cannot deregister the new number as the only options are, put the SIM card back in of the number you want to de register and to switch off the setting or send a code to that number to type in. I can’t do either. help

iPhone - cannot edit / save new number in 'My Number' Last week I moved mobile network provider and transferred my old number via a PAC code etc. The phone works when calls made to the transferred number. The iPhone recognises the new network number and has put it in 'My Number' but, when I edit this number to the old transferred number, I can edit the number but it will not save the edit. So I am stuck with the new network number, which impacts iMessage. I have iMessage turned off and FaceTime turned off. iMessage says my transferred number is not registered. Any help would be appreciated. PS - my wife changed to the same mobile network at the same time, same iPhone model(7) and I edited her 'My Number' and iMessage, with no issues.

Remove the old number and add the desired number. See the Apple Support article(s) below. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the article.
