Magic mouse low battery warning

I have a magic mouse with my M1 iMac, with a rechargeable battery. I only get a low battery warning when I log on, and often the warning indicates a very short time remaining before I need to recharge. Since the recharge port is on the base of the mouse, this means that I can do little or no work until I have put at least some charge back into the battery. It would be much more convenient if macOS would give me an earlier warning (say 10% battery level) while I am still active in an earlier work session; then I could plan my recharging for a time when I'm not using the computer.

Is there any way that I can encourage the OS to give me such a warning?

Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know of any option to do that. You may want to make the suggestion to Apple via Feedback - Magic Mouse - Apple

My workaround is that I have a rough idea of how many days it takes for my Magic Mouse to go from 100% to 40% and I put a recurring reminder in my calendar to remind me to charge it.
