iTunes Library Vs Downloads

Once I've downloaded MP3's from online (Dj platform) and they're in my downloads folder and then I import them into iTunes. Can I then remove them from downloads and they will all stay within iTunes? Or do I need to keep the files somewhere on my computer so iTunes can play the files. Thanks

That depends on how your library is set up. If you have iTunes set to copy the files into its media folder during the import process then you don't need to keep the files in the downloads folder.

If you have it set to keep the files in their original location, then yes, you need to keep those files where they are so iTunes can play them.

Check the Music Menu->Settings->Files, and make see what the settings are there. If "Copy Files to Music Media folder when adding to iTunes" is checked, then you can delete the files from the Downloads folder.
