Ventura supported video formats and codecs

Hi everyone!

I have a couple of questions regarding MacOS Ventura, in particular referring to the support of real video formats.

1) What version of Quicktime comes with Ventura?

2) Is it possible to natively play videos in MKV format (H264 - H265) without the need for external codecs or to use applications such as VLC?

3) If I download an .MKV file from the network (no, not necessarily illegal) and I want to copy it to iPad (with iPad OS 16), I know that it is not possible to play it natively. But can iTunes automatically convert it to a compatible format and then send it to the tablet?

A thousand thanks!
