MacBook Air does not read or see usb flash drives

My MacBook Air does not see USB flash drives using a dongle nor a hub. When I use a hub my presenter clicker doesn't work either. Is something wrong with my USB C port?

Possibly. Are you using a powered hub? It might be necessary.

When you connect the USB flash drive, does it appear in Disk Utility?

The device should appear in its left column. If it does not, as far as the Mac is concerned it might as well not exist. Contact Apple Support if you have reason to suspect the port is inoperative: Contact - Official Apple Support
