Apple Watch not going into Sleep mode

Before the last update, when my phone goes into Sleep focus at 9pm my watch would follow suit by going dark, and if I want to know the time a single tap would reveal the time in large, dim numbers.

After the latest update when my phone goes into Sleep focus, my watch shows the Sleep icon (bed) at the top, but the screen doesn't turn off, I have to put it into Theater Mode otherwise the busy face I use will light up whenever I roll over. Not ideal.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes I see this too. What I’ve realised is that if sleep focus is turned on by an automation or shortcut this happens.

But if sleep focus is set manually on the watch then the display turns off like it should do after about 10 seconds.

I am hoping that this is fixed in the 16.2 iOS update and WatchOS 9.2 but don’t know anyone who could confirm this?
