Sounds like its not the one it's expecting. Did you have an older one? Did you migrate data and apps to this new iMac? If so, it's probably requiring the older one, since you may have apps tied to it.

Can't purchase app from App Store - message says this is hasn't been used before . I know that - just got new iMac and trying to use new email/password
