Go to Settings > General > About and tap on the name at the op and it will let you edit it.

How to change the iphone name shown under Settings > Apple ID? I have the same issue. The phone name is changed via 'Settings > General > About' but under 'Settings > Apple ID' I do not see how to change the phone name which was inherited from a previous iphone. Thanks for any help.
