Why does my 2017 21.5 iMac have a 28GB hard drive in addition to the 250GB SSD?
I purchased a used 21.5" 2017 4K iMac. I see 2 volumes listed. The first is the 250GB SSD I expect to see with these models.
However there is a second drive of 28GB called "Flash Storage". I attempted to install the operating system on this drive since it's large enough, in order to leave the full 250GB for my documents and files. However I got an error message attempting to install the operating system on the 28GB drive.
Any idea what this extra 28GB flash storage drive is for and why the computer has it? It is almost a though this computer had a 1TB Fusion drive, and was upgraded to a 250GB SSD drive, but Apple left the 28GB from the Fusion drive inside when they upgraded this computer to 250GB SSD? Does anybody know what this 28GB is? Does anybody know why I can't install the operating system onto it? Photo attached.
