Updated iPhone and watch to latest versions and now the Workout app crashes whenever a new workout is started on the watch and the watch app on the iPhone crashes when going into settings \ workout \ heart rate zones.
I have reset the watch and the problem persists.

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. When you say you reset your Apple Watch, did you force restart, or unpair and erase the watch?
If you haven't tried that, we suggest unpairing and erasing. At which time you can pair back up using the backup. Here is how.

Thanks for the advice. I unpaired the watch and set it up as new twice before your response (I've even re-installed the watch app on my phone).
I have now installed iOS 16.1.1 on my iPhone XS and unpaired and set it up as new again and the problem persists.
Is there likely to be a WatchOS update soon?
