Recently discovered that when I select print to "Photo Tray" overriding the printer defaults of A4 Paper (Main tray) the print still tries to use the Main tray. I think this has been since installing Ventura
I've checked all settings several times. and it still reverts to the default Main tray each time.
Any Ideas?

Are you using a preset with a vendor driver when "overriding the printer defaults"? If so, this has been reported here, and you'll have to wait for a fix from Apple.
If you are using a preset, does it work without using a preset? Just selecting the "Photo Tray"?
Thanks John, Its the standard Apple Driver (3.0) installed. I didn't even know that there was a HP driver available.
I did uninstall and reinstall just in case.
On the Apple driver presets it has Auto Select tray and Auto Select Paper. I change these to Photo Tray and Photo paper but it still only takes paper from the Main tray. Annoying...
Suppose I will just have to wait for it to get fixed.

By Apple Driver, it sounds like AirPrint. I would have expected that to work. It doesn't sound like you're using presets, just selecting Photo Tray from Feed From and Photo Paper from Paper Type. Is that accurate?
Yes thats exactly right John. Airprint Driver 3.0
Default Paper is A4. Settings below with option to select Photo Tray in Print options... but it's ignored completely. And reverts to Auto Select Tray after printing (or possibly doesnt take any notice from the start).
