Music App on macOS Monterrey keeps crashing and is really slow. (Macbook Pro M1 Max 16-inch 2021)

Running on this machine. My iTunes library is 10 years old now and I have always migrated it from computer to computer without any trouble.

Now the Music App is driving me crazy because it will crash every single time when I try to quit the app. Navigating and playing tracks is super sluggish. When I press play on a track it takes almost a two seconds delay to play it - this has never happened before with any of my older mac computers.

What is going on with the Music App, please fix it. I am a collector and a DJ and I need my music library fast as it used to be.

Needless to say I paid an insane amount of money for this machine to be acting this way...

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Hello pura_cadera,

It appears this is happening on a MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.3. If there is an app that isn't working properly, we'd recommend updating to the latest macOS version 12.6: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

If unresolved, we'd next test the Music app in safe mode, which will tell us more about what's going on. Note: Safe mode is slower to boot and some apps/processes don't work here. That'll tell us if something is causing the issue and is blocked from working in safe mode. Learn how to use safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Depending on the results in safe mode, use sections, 'If the issue continues in safe mode' or 'If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode' to solve it.

Let us know how it goes, take care.
