macOS Ventura not showing files on SD card

Seems like there is a problem with macOS ventura showing the complete contents of SD cards from my Aukey dash cam. I'm using a USB-C to multiport dongle with a microSD card. On macOS Ventura the SD card is detected and I can see the folder structure, but the folder with all the recordings is empty. Taking the same USB-C to multiport adaptor and plugging it in on a mac with Monterey it shows the files immediately. Same on a Windows 11 PC. This is reproducible with 2 dash cams and 2 SD cards. Any ideas?

Disconnect all other external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.

Have you rebooted the Mac (sometimes a reboot may be all that is needed)?

Also try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can see the files on the SD card.

You may need to try using another USB-C adapter.

Thanks for the tips. The Mac has been rebooted ever so times as part I troubleshooting. Instead of using the USB-C adaptor I used a microSD to SD adaptor and the built in SD card reader on my MBP. The problem remains. Tested the same adaptor on my windows PC and the files show up fine.
