Re-routing of Amazon links in email/messages/messenger/WhatsApp etc. to Safari

Why is it that when I click on an Amazon link in one of the subject apps, it gets rerouted to safari instead of opening in the Amazon app? Even if I long press the link, I have no option to open in the app.

I am on an iPad Pro 2nd Gen, with iPadOS 15.7.

Why do some links successfully open their affilliated apps but others default to browser? iPhone 13. 2025-02-08 (North America - using an iPhone13) Why do some email links successfully open their affilliated apps but others default to browser? I know variations of this question have been asked over time, but I will use the Pinterest app as an example for point of failure, and it's all fine and good to cite a solution attempt from YouTube, but often I see menu options change over time (even AI has been throwing some dumb attempts at solutions via blanket statements). In short, does this come down to poor parameter-passing by the apps' developers? For example, I click on an email from Pinterest. At some interim stage of the puzzle it asks me if I'd like to open the content IN Pinterest. WHY YES, WHAT A FINE IDEA! Instead, Safari opens and I'm presented with the option to log in. No thanks, I'll revert to my laptop and browser to ease the hassle. On the other hand, there are apps that work flawlessly in their transition from links to app usage. Maybe I'm being too verbose, but hopefully this outlines the issue. Best Regards.

Links opening in safari instead of app Since I switched to iPhone 14, when I click on a link from Amazon, it opens in Safari instead of opening the app. Is there a way to fix this?

Hyperlinks in Mail or Messaging will open in your chosen default web-browser (e.g., Safari, Firefox, Chrome). If you wish to open a link within a dedicated third party App, you must either copy and paste the link - or in some circumstances, may be able to use the Share facility.

Long-touch the link - and from the menu select the Copy or Share action.
