Certain Senders Cannot Be Blocked
My Block Sender command in Mail works well most of the time. And it puts the little red “slash in a circle” symbol on those blocked emails. But recently I’ve come across certain spam senders that simply cannot be blocked. The Block Sender command does not work on them. There is no “slash-in-a-circle” and when I go back in to look at the information for those senders, the menu still says “Block Sender” rather than “Unblock Sender” as it would had I successfully blocked them.
For these certain senders, they are unblockable on my Mac, my iPad and on my iPhone. All platforms have current, up-to-date operating systems. Yet when I test Block Sender on other senders, it works just fine. It only fails (repeatedly) on those certain senders. Suggestions?
on your Mac, select a message from the sender you want to block.
appears next to the sender’s name in the message list and a banner is added to their messages to indicate they’re blocked. The banner also provides a link to the Blocked pane of Mail settings, where you can manage blocked senders.
