Can I use Apple TV storage to store video?

I really miss being able to download movies on the Apple TV. Is it possible to do this now that it has 128GB of storage? Hooking this thing up in the car would be great or taking to places without great internet access.

No it is a streaming only box and that storage is so you can download apps and games on the console.
