How do I convert from FAT32 to ExFAT on an external drive on a Mac with losing data?

I am running MacOS 11.3.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.3

How can I read Exfat files with my Macbook M2 Chip? Hello everyone! I’m facing an issue to read files that in Exfat format created in the past with a MacBook Pro 2018 version in a external hard drive. Recently, with a new Macbook Air M2 with macOS Ventura I’m unable to access those files, the external hard drive is not even recognized so not possible to read them. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions on how I can read my exFAT files again? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
