Trade in’s

Just wanted to know more info regarding Trade in’s. I have an iPhone 12 Pro max, and was wondering if I were trade it In, how will that work? It’s still a pretty recent phone, nothing wrong with it, no cracks or anything…

What would be the steps if I proceed to take the trade ?
