I can't currently use this feature plugged in or wirelessly due to accounts being different for work and personal on each device. What's the best solution?

That is not a workaround, that is a change in the premise of the situation.
With different Apple IDs there is no workaround that will not disrupt the data and function of the affected device. Signing in with different Apple ID is not recommended.
The continuity camera is a hardware to hardware connection via software and NFC for Facetime and similar apps.
Each device MUST be signed in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication.

I mean there is a workaround, you have to think out of the box...like signing into both accounts on the mac, or the iphone and switching over accounts when you want to use continuity...but that's super annoying.
Is there any way to use continuity camera on mac and iphone with a personal and work icloud account?
