iPad Pro 9.7-inch bricked, won't restore from Mac

My iPad Pro 9.7-inch WiFi (model A1673) is bricked, apparently after a failed iOS upgrade (it worked fine before 10/24/2022). Restoring from Mac (in Finder) after many minutes reports that it could not be restored: "An unknown error occurred (4). 060E.0006". This happens from all my Macs running MacOS v12.6.1 Monterey, repeatedly. No amount of fiddling with the power and home buttons makes any difference, not even the DFU mode. What to do?

Will Apple fix this to make iPad models A1673 work again?

You might be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to assess your iPad - and provide appropriate assistance:

You generally cannot roll-back to an earlier version of iOS/iPadOS than is currently installed.

All System Updates are digitally signed by Apple - and can only be installed whilst the digital signatures remain valid. After release of a new iOS/iPadOS version, the immediately preceding version continues to be digitally signed by Apple - however, usually within a few days, Apple will revoke the digital certificate with which the earlier version is signed.

Perhaps consider that iOS/iPadOS updates include both functional and essential security updates. Restoring an earlier version of the OS would undermine the security of your device and your personal data.
