MacOS Ventura: Storage keeps "Loading Items"
Hi there,
I'm on MacOS Ventura. I wanted to manage the storage, but it keeps loading items and doesn't allow me to manage it.
How to fix this?

CleanMyMac is considered bo be akin to malware by most of the experienced users ins these forums. It does more harm than good.
Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. You can check to see if you've removed all of the supporting files by downloading and running the shareware app Find Any File to search for any files with the application's or the developer's name in the file name. For CMM software you'd do the following search(es):
1 - Name contains cleanmymac
2 - Name contains macpaw
Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop or Trash bin in the Dock for deletion.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.
That display is created using Spotlight. It may be that Spotlight is stuck on some file or the index is incomplete.
You could try re-indexing Spotlight to see if it will allow the storage display to complete.

The Spotlight indexing maybe because the computer is trying to find Empty Space on this computer in order to function.

Notation - If the user is using a cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner - suggest tweaking the Safety Net Feature in this software. It may be making additional Snap Shots that are not being Cloned to the Eternal Drive. If this should be the case, these Snap Shot could be using additional space on the drive
The final word from Apple on Managing the " Other/ System Data “ Category
Other / System Data: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.
Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, is an invitation for disaster and comprising the Operating System
Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase
Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions
Hi Barney,
Thanks for the link. I've just reindexed the Spotlight, but still have the issue with "Loading items".
Is there another way to fix it?

Thanks for the advice.
I've managed to clean it with Clean My Mac. So now I have 205 of 245GB Used
But I still have this issue
To be honest I haven't heard that it's might be considered as a malware.
But why Apple haven't removed it from the App Store?
