Sceptre C30 monitor flickering, then cutting out

I bought a Sceptre C30 (full model C305B-FUN200) and am connecting it by HDMI to my 2021 MacBook Pro M1. The monitor flickers and goes out, almost as if the HDMI signal is being dropped. It then comes back again a few seconds later. It repeats this on-off cycle indefinitely. When I start the monitor with the HDMI in HDMI 1, the monitor reads No Signal at all then goes to sleep. In the System Preferences>Displays, the monitor will appear then disappear on a regular basis. When it's available, I set the monitor to default size, 60 Hz.

Are there better settings on the Mac or monitor OSD? Is it some kind of a low-power problem on the HDMI port of my Mac? Should I try to use another way of connecting to the monitor?

Hello dpifko,

Thanks for reaching out to us in Apple Support Communities about issues with your external monitor. We're happy to help by looking into this more!

Here's a resource that can help: Connect a display to your Mac - Apple Support

Keep in mind:

Check the ports on your Mac to find out whether you need an adapter. If you're using a USB-C or Thunderbolt adapter to connect your display, the adapter must be compliant with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.
