my imac is still on Ver 11.7.1. the aitomatic update settings have been in place and no updates have been done. i have now manually activated the checking for updates finction. it has been running for hours without an update becoming available

What year model is your iMac?

see > Identify your iMac model - Apple Support


macOS 11.7.1 is the latest and most current version of Big Sur.


Only Late 2015 and newer iMac's can run macOS 12 Monterey or macOS 13 Ventura.
