OS 13.0 how to set default settings for a specific printer

How do you set default settings by printer so when you go to print on that printer it always has the correct settings specific to that one printer (its a label printer). worked beautifully in previous os but in ventura its not intuitive on how to set default and stick. I don't want to have to pick a preset every time, I print 100s of labels a month. When you don't check rest to default it still resets.

I am having the same problem. It worked well until 12.6.1 but it does not remember the correct settings for a specific printer on 13.0-13.1. In addition, everytime I try to print it does not even show "Standard" as print settings as specified in the printer control panel, but just has "None" selected in the drop down menu. Tried resetting the print system, re-installing the printers and making changes in the CUPS interface - nothing helped. Sometimes you wonder if this has even been tested by Apple prior to release? Or do they again claim that it is "better this way" as it is a feature and not a bug - given that the issues still persist in 13.1? Anyone with any suggestions out there?
