Mac OS streaming issues--audio no video

I have previously used screen mirroring from my Macbook Air M1 2020 (now with Mac Ventura 13.0) to send TV viewing to my newish 2020 LG tv with no issues.

Currently, however, I turn on screen mirroring, and get audio fine, and can see my mirrored laptop screen header bar and cursor on the LG TV, but the streaming picture is blacked out.

If I use my cursor along the program progress bar at the bottom of the screen, I do see the little miniature, postage stamp size video version of the program, but it will not expand to full screen. Bluetooth is off.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I have found out what my particular issue is, it is sidecar! If you connect your iPad and use it as an extended display, Disney or Apple TV does not render content.

If you have sidecar, Disconnect the iPad and see if that solves your problem.

I don’t have Sidecar, but this got me to thinking about errant programs that might be interfering. I do use a webpage that is a website organizer for the many sites I use, and I went around that and directly searched streaming sites in safari, signing in from there, instead of through the site-organizer……voilà! Works fine. Thanks.

I am having similar issues with Safari/Chrome streaming from services such as Netflix/Disney. Audio but no video so I am assuming this is something to do with rendering on Ventura.
