AirPods falling out of case

Whenever I drop my AirPods even from less than three feet they always seem to explode out of the case and I constantly loose them. Today it happened in a parking lot after I dropped the case from my lap and I lost one airpod after retrieving the other. After I researched I found that other people share this issue but yet most people can drop their AirPods from heights like a flight of stairs and they will stay secure inside the case. Also if I have one airpod in my ear, when connecting the other one to my ear, it creates static or a delayed sound. Either my AirPods are very defective or there is a design issue. Also I can’t select AirPods as the device when posting this so I put accessories.
